Why PET over SPECT Imaging?

Exam time

Traditional SPECT scans can take up to 4 hours to perform. PET scans can be completed in a fraction of that time. Patients can easily tolerate the imaging position, reducing the risk of motion and artifacts. Customer satisfaction ratings will improve greatly.

Improved Image Quality

Better image quality will result in greater diagnostic accuracy and risk stratification. PET images are better able to identify multi-vessel disease as well as the extent and severity of disease.

Greatly Reduced Radiation Exposure

Ongoing concerns and awareness around patient radiation exposure can be addressed by utilizing PET technology. Patients are exposed to far less radiation during a PET procedure as compared to SPECT.

Better Care for Obese Patients

In the US, the obese population is growing at an alarming rate. Treating patients with high body mass index (BMI) need not be a challenge. PET technology reduces attenuation artifacts providing better accuracy in diagnosis.
